UX/UI Design for Rental App

Simplifying Trust Between Tenants and Landlords in Tel Aviv's Housing Market

Balabait is a mobile and desktop app designed to ease the rental approval process for both landlords and potential tenants in Tel Aviv, a city with high demand and limited rental availability. One of the key frictions in this market is landlords’ uncertainty about a tenant’s financial reliability. Balabait allows prospective tenants to securely submit a scanned bank check through the app. The system analyzes financial data and provides landlords with a simple approval or rejection result without sharing sensitive financial details. I designed a clear, fast, and intuitive interface that enables both parties to reach decisions quickly, helping streamline one of the most frustrating parts of the rental process.

The Result Clearer Communication and Faster Rental Approvals

The app’s design prioritizes speed, privacy, and clarity. Tenants can complete a financial check submission in under a minute, while landlords receive instant, digestible responses about the tenant’s financial trustworthiness. The interface avoids clutter, minimizes cognitive load, and works seamlessly across mobile and desktop. As a result, users experience less friction, and landlords gain confidence in their decisions without intrusive paperwork or back-and-forths. Balabait shortens the rental cycle and brings much-needed transparency to an often chaotic urban housing market.
